Candace R. Johnson is a partner in the New Jersey office of Brooks & Berne, PLLC. She focuses her practice in the areas of general liability, insurance defense litigation and insurance coverage/bad faith claims; automobile liability, premises liability, product liability and workers’ compensation defense.
She has substantial experience in all aspects of insurance defense litigation and handles a diverse caseload of construction, general premises liability and automobile litigation matters from inception to resolution. She regularly defends contractors, building owners, commercial landlords and tenants, among others, in personal injury actions arising in a variety of contexts. Candace also engages in appellate practice and has argued appeals before the New York State Appellate Division, Second Department.
Ms. Johnson was previously an associate with a New Jersey law firm representing national credit card companies and financial institutions in civil litigation matters involving retail collections. She has experience with contractual agreements and compliance practices regarding state and federal law regulations such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and Truth in Lending Act (TILA). Ms. Johnson has also handled landlord tenant and family law matters from case inception through resolution.
