Ms. Khakee’s expertise includes insurance coverage and defense, construction law (including mediation and arbitration of construction defect, performance bond and payment bond claims), environmental law and healthcare compliance.
Prior to working at the firm, Ms. Khakee worked at global AmLaw100 and major regional law firms. She also clerked for the Honorable John D. Geathers (who currently serves on the Supreme Court of South Carolina) and served as an Associate Regional Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (Region II).
Ms. Khakee obtained a Juris Doctorate from Fordham University. Her accomplishments in law school included serving as the Articles and Notes Editor for the Fordham International Law Journal, publishing a Note entitled The North American Free Trade Agreement:The Need to Protect Transboundary Water Resources and receiving the Public Service Award for pro bono work. She previously obtained a master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University, focusing on healthcare management and public policy. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, majoring in biochemistry.
In her spare time, Ms. Khakee serves as a Public Policy Director for the Center for the Rights and Protection of Children. She enjoys her time with her two daughters and puppy, as well as boxing, yoga and hiking.
