At Brooks & Berne, PLLC we feel a responsibility to our community to provide our time and effort to worthy causes. Accordingly, we created a Pro Bono program for the attorneys in this growing firm to work with local businesses on their internal policies and individuals who feel their civil rights were violated. This program will enhance attorney training, provide them the opportunity to experience the many rewards of Pro Bono work and will also allow them to earn CLE credits for this work.
Currently, Brooks & Berne, PLLC partnered with a local charitable organization to draft a Covid-19 protocol, as well as agreements/waivers for their volunteers, participants, Board of Directors and employees. The firm also offers ongoing legal advice regarding Covid-19 requirements and the relevant protocols in New York State.
Further, Brooks & Berne, PLLC attorneys assist with a youth mental health project on Long Island that provides employment, housing and programs for developmentally disabled communities. Our attorneys assisted this program with becoming incorporated and drafted relevant protocols, by-laws, conflict of interest policies and assisted the program with its tax filings.
Finally, Brooks & Berne, PLLC’s attorneys prepare waivers, consents and signage for small businesses in our community to reduce their liability for COVID-19 exposure as they resume business operations in compliance with the evolving New York State regulations.
